The OET exam administered by the Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment Trust (CBLA) is a specialist English language exam designed for healthcare professionals. For the uninitiated, the full form of the OET is the Professional English Test. This test is only eligible Healthcare professionals who are looking to work or study in the healthcare sector in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Maldives, Malta Namibia, New Zealand, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America are required to apply for the OET test to demonstrate their English language ability and their ability to provide high-quality healthcare.

OET on Paper at a Test Venue
This is the oldest method of testing healthcare students for the OET examcover past 30 years. In General, OET Contains 4 components (Reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
OET on Computer at a Test Venue
This is CBT based test at same venue like Paper based OET. Exams are graded by trained examiners representing the paper based OET.
OET@Home
OET@Home is for test takers to take the test at home. OET @ Home has the same time format and difficulty as the OET test venue. A stable desktop/laptop with a good internet connection is a basic requirement.
OET Exam Pattern
OET provides an accurate and reliable assessment of the four language skills -listening reading writing and speaking with anemphasis on communication in clinical and healthcare settings.
OET Consists of four sub-tests:
· Listening (approximately 45 minutes)
· Reading (60 minutes)
· Writing (45 minutes)
· Speaking (approximately 20 minutes)
Reading
The detailed reading consists of three parts and contains a total of 42 questions. He has a total of 60 minutes to complete all three parts. The topics are general medicine and therefore accessible to candidates of all professions.
Writing
The writing subtest lasts 45 minutes and is Profession-specific. For each occupation there is a task based on typical workplace conditions and business requirements; nurses do nursing work, A doctor prescribes medicine, dentists treat teeth, etc.
Speaking
The Speaking subtest is administered individually and takes approximately 20 minutes. This part of the OET uses material
designed specifically for your work. In the Speaking sub-test, the candidate takes part in two role-plays. In each role-play, the
candidate takes his or her professional role (for example, as a nurse or as a pharmacist) while the interlocutor plays
a patient, a client, or a patient's relative or career.
Listening
The OET listening sub-test consists of three parts with a total of 42 questions. These topics are of general health interest
and are available to Candidates of all professions. The total duration of listening to the audio is approximately 40
minutes including recorded speech and pauses to give you time to write down your answers. You will listen to each
recording once and write down your answers as you listen.
Exam Fee
The OET exam fee is 587 AUD (Australian Dollars) which is equivalent to INR 33000 approx.
Result
You will receive a result statement indicating your score for each of the four subtests on a scale of 0 to 500. To know more
