Internal Medicine/Nephrology Rotation - Garnet Health

About this Rotation

This 4-week Internal Medicine and Nephrology rotation provides students with a comprehensive clinical experience at Garnet Health, combining both inpatient and outpatient exposure. Students work closely with attending physicians and healthcare teams while developing clinical reasoning, patient management skills, and familiarity with the U.S. healthcare system through direct involvement in patient care. Clinical Exposure Includes: * Acute and Chronic Kidney Disease * Electrolyte and Fluid Disorders * Hypertension and Cardiovascular Comorbidities * Diabetes-Related Complications * Heart Failure and Volume Overload * Sepsis and General Internal Medicine Cases * Pre- and Post-Dialysis Patient Management Students gain valuable experience in clinical assessment, inpatient and outpatient management, EMR documentation, and evidence-based patient care. The rotation offers strong exposure to both Internal Medicine and Nephrology while providing opportunities for research involvement and mentorship. This experience is particularly beneficial for IMGs seeking meaningful U.S. clinical experience, academic productivity, and a strong personalized letter of recommendation for residency applications.
